Does anyone here have Dayton Wire Wheels on their C3? I saw a set and they are now officially under my skin. I would love to see what a set looks like mounted on a C3.
I always liked the look of wire wheels. There is a 74 that I see at a lot of shows that has them and they look great. Having said that, I've had one set of wire wheels in my life and that was enough. Talk about a maintenance nightmare. If you don't mind spending hours upon hours cleaning and polishing them then by all means get them.
Here are a couple of pics for you. I don't know the brand of the wheels, since they were on when I bought the car a couple of years ago. By the way, since the car is always garaged and I only drive it in good weather (which is most every weekend for me here in So Cal) I have not had to do much cleaning on them at all. Just a periodic spray off and towel dry. I suspect a daily driver may be a different story though.

Awesome vette with killer wheels. My car isnt a daily driver. If it looks like rain its the 300 or the mustang. I do not fear the wire wheels. I am pumped for them now.
I have had Dayton knock-offs on my C1, , C2, and C3. I can show only the C1 as it`s the only one that still has the wires. The comment about maintenance is definitely true. I can was the Vette in 5 minutes. The wheels take forever. if you want a sharp looking Vette they have to be thoroughly cleaned. Sprays and so called cleaners dont work. I use a paint brush and soap. Anything is easier to maintain than wires. But then again hardly nothing looks better than wires
