Being new to C3's I am sort of a loss figuring out the pathways for plugwires. It appears that they run down the backside of the engine and then along the side. Is this true? Is there a diagram showing the route of the wires? Also, my 74 has an electronic ignition. Does it also have a rotor within the distributor? My problem is that there is a small miss when idling and upon acceleration. If I accelerate hard the miss disappears until I once again idle or slow the vehicle. I am thinking of replacing the plugs, wires, distributor car, and rotor. Any help would be appreciated.
See this thread on the same subject i posted last week. Hope this helps. Its basic things like replacing caps rotor plugs and wires that can make a big difference in how the motor runs.
Before you buy anything read your plugs. This is the only clue as to what is happening in the cylinders. Identify the bad cylinder or cylinders and then take the necessary steps to fix it.
I ordered an A.I.M. manual this week and hopefully it will get here by the weekend. Looks like an involved job replacing the wires! Since it is a new carb (Edlebrock), it may need adjustment. Thanks for the reference and the pointers.
