No problem here....when I buy from people in the USA things usually go good, that is if they know that the USA really does have post offices open for business and the postal employees really did not shoot every one there.
I was solicited from a buyer overseas. He wanted me to lower my price to make up for shipping it. After several attempts to make the deal happen, I insisted the price was firm and never heard from him again.
I've dealt with overseas buyers. They were effortless and fast. As long as the money is wired bank to bank or all cash you are fine. I've sold a few cars to Norway and couldn't be happier with the experience.
Depends on which way you look at being overseas!!!
I bought my car from a lady in Houston (I live in Tasmania) and she went out of her way to help fortunately.
In hindsight she could have sold me a heap of crap as I did not personally inspect the car and had an independent person look at it for me.
From my perspective I had everything to lose, she had my money.
Since using the Forum if I look for another car it will be from a Forum member.
I've just become a little skeptical in times of internet fraud, bogus offers, scams, etc!
It would be unfair to say anything against making overseas deals knowing all the good people that are on the forum who obviously bought Corvettes overseas.
But your not crazy to be leery of scams of which there are plenty.
I know a buddy that sold his 57 Chevy to a guy in Sweeden. No problems. Also, my brother sold a car to a guy in Mexico. The money was wired to his bank, nobody never looked at the car. At the time my brother only had an Ebay feedback of 2! One day a guy in a truck/trailer showed up and they loaded it up. A couple months later he got a nice email from the guy stating how happy he was with the car.
With the strength of the Euro, I bet a lot of europens are taking advantage of what amounts to a half-off sale! That's probably why you are getting so many inquiries from across the pond.
