true! my best friend and i had our share of muscle cars in the 70's, 70 chevelle 396/375hp with a hurst 4 speed, silver with the black stripe, cowl induction, 73 Vega w/350/575 hp, built professionally by a guy who had bought the car for his wife to drive back and forth to work, she comes home one evening and he's got the engine, transmission pulled, it had a Dana rearend in it, 72 chevelle 350 convertible 4 speed, couple others, but it was always fun to raise the hood and pull off the breather to look at the Carb! know what i mean, stand there with some buddies sipping a PBR and BSing about the engine, still do it today i guess but that pabst sure tasted a lot better back then
Glad to see the manufactures building something with some ***** again. It'll be nice to see some muscle back on the street. My only complaint is they all look the same. The Chevy, Ford, and Chrysler all have the same roof lines, similar noses, similar stocky shapes, similar HP....Nothing out of the box here. No different than the new "impala", I think it is..the updated midsize 4 dr chevy...It looks like a freakin Camry!
Either way, enjoy the next 4-5 years while we get the chance to see some nice new cars, because as soon as the Dems get in office, these things will be banned from production. We'll be back to 185 hp, over restricted, 1976 again.
The other thing the manufacturers are doing is guaranteeing their own job security with all the computerization on these things. Hope you don't plan on repairing anything yourself. There is a reason they're advertising lifetime warantees now. Non-transferrable of course. And who do think is paying for that warranty, as well as those 0% interest rates! Nothing in life is free!
