Default 78 Silver Coupe Need Advice

I have been offered a 78 silver coupe thats needs a little TLC nice paint and interior tranny may need help, lady wants 6 K for the car to get it out of her way. What are these cars worth in driveable condition? I may pick it up for a resale. I have not seen it yet but I have talked to some that have and from what I am hearing the car is very presentable. I plan to look at it some time this week. I will be sure to take a bunch of pictures.

Thanks

CM prices are always high, but here's what the latest C3 report said.

Everybody is going to ask for pictures to get a better idea what you are looking at.

However, with the breif description that you gave, I don't think that 6k is out of line.

You see them all the time advertised anywhere from 9-15K.

If its driveable 6K sounds about right if its in fair condition. Put the pics up when you get them.

It looks pretty decent from what I can see.

Seats must need to be covered, since the covers on there. So you have about $500 for new covers, another $200 for new foam, and you might consider having them done if you haven't done them.

Carpet looks OK but new seats will accent bad carpet so you have about $350 there.

Door panels looked OK, but if not, about $500 for the pair.

So if the interior is really bad enough that it needs replacing, you have roughly $1600 or more real quick.

Paint varies between who you ask, but from your other pictures, you know that. Figure $4000 to $10,000 unless you do that yourself. Even then, you will have at least $800 in materials and a lot of labor.

If cosmetically decent, then $6000 is good. If you have to toss in about $5000 in cosmetics, then you'll be at $11,000 and you haven't touched mechanicals. The AC belt is off, so I assume the compressor is bad. Figure about $700 to repair unless you do your own AC work.

Tach is wide open, so I assume the filter is bad. Cheap fix.

From the photos and the information supplied, $6000 looks like a very good price for that car.

No way! Fenders flared. Non-stock wheels. The interior needed some work in one picture, I think. No front bumper. Hey, worthless!!!

I'll save you the shame of being caught dead in it by only charging you dinner to pick it up and haul it off.

With title, of course. Florida doesn't allow us to do it without title anymore.
