Door panel repair?
Has anyone tried to repair the rear of a door panel? What I mean is the metal clips that hold the panel to the door slide into a slot on the rear of the door panel which is a cardboard type material and the cardboard is broken so the clip won't hold the panel against the door.

Two possibilities
First, if it isn't broken out too badly is to slide a thin piece of sheet steel or aluminum under the cardboard backer to "bridge" the broken piece and allow you to hook the metal clip to the panel.
Option two is to drill a hole through the clip and use a thin screw with some expoxy type glue on the threads to screw the clip in place.
