My Vette has some ugly aftermarket wheels on it. I want to get correct date coded wheels. The car is a 1971 Lt-1. What codes should be stamped on the wheels to signify 1971?
I have a line on 2 sets of wheels. one says K-1-7 the other is K-1-0 I'm guessing one set is from a 1977 and the other is from 1970 since it ends with "0" ? I believe the K is for Kelsey Hays ? Is any of what I wrote correct ? Thanks for any info you can give me.
It's my understanding that the date code should read like this:
K = Kelsey Hayes
1 = Chevrolet
7 = Last digit of year of mfg.
0-12 = Month of mfg.
The wheels should also have "AZ" stamped next to the valve stem.

Month is stamped on one side of the valve stem, Day of the month on the other side (same side as AZ) AZ is the proper size for your Corvette.
