Here come da headers! Pics out there?
I grew weary of staring at those unsightly exhaust manifolds- especially after changing out the spark plugs and wires....Now THAT was an experience. I marvelled at the engineering as I followed the trajectory of those wires....under exhaust, starter, AND motor mount. How compelling! I decided to simply cut the old wires out and deal with the proper re-routing later. In the meantime, I elected to explore headers. I love the look and the sound. Checking out the Forum archives I see that Dynamax brand fit the bill, so they're on order from Summit. I can't seem to find photos of engine compartments replete with headers...any contributors out there? Also, aside from the added heat- I ordered ceramic-coated to diminish that-any complications arising from adding headers? I'm mostly a stock guy but my hypocrisy only extends so far. Oh, and did any of you header-guys use a Balance Tube? Is it even necessary?
Thanks dudes
I'm with ya ! Why do the stock manifold have to be so ugly?I swaped mine out, for the ceramic, put on duels and got rid of all the Air Pump polution Crap. 82's will never compete with many years, for HP but I just wanted a clean turn key thang!
Got to laugh though, If you believe the marketing, each of the following adds 5-15 HP each. Air Pump removal, Headers addition, Duel Exhaust, Performance Mufflers,Oversized Pullies, Performamnce chip (Distrbutor), Performance Chip Computer, TB Upgrade, Fuel Pump Upgrade.
Hypothetically that takes the mismil stock 200 hp/ up to over 300 hp
Honestly I don't think so, although it's never been dino'ed I just know It dosen't look or sound like any other 82 at the local shows.[IMG]
