Default Custom Seat Question

Bought a set of C5 seats from Keen Parts in Ohio. Going to put them in when weather breaks. Thanks to all for your quick and helpful responses.

Has anyone ever put seats from C$ or other types in a 76? I am banalncing between toal seat change or new leather.

Lots of C5 seats going into C3's. Pretty simple. Here's a good thread with examples. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...light=C5+seats

SHouldnt be much trouble getting an embroidery shop to detail the upper leathers before you install them. I had to replace my leathers as headroom is an issue. A lot of the seat swaps result in less headroom without rail mods. At 6'3" every bump is an encounter with the ceiling.

I've had C5 seats installed for about 3 yrs and love them. So much more comfortable than C3 seats.

look great. Couple of questions. I show my car. Did you have to modify/eliminate center console at all? How about tracks? did you put in permanently/power/manual?

If I go new leather, I want to find a vendor who can embroider the C3 logo on the upper panel of the seat back. Regular vendors (MID AMERICA etc) can;t do that.

Help, suggestions, ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike
Your best bet:Try Al Knoch Corvette Interiors. call 1 866 alknoch or 1 800 880 8080.
also on the web, google 'Al kNOCH'

I just bought some C5 seats for my C3. Waiting for them to come in. Did you have to do anything special for them to mount? Use the C3 or C5 brackets? Mine are electric if that matters.

I recently toured Mid America's seat cover factory with the St. Louis Sharks. I asked the question about the custom logo and they said that they could do it. My covers came from leatherseats.com. They wanted a rediculous amount for a custom setup so I just kept the C5 logo,s.

After searching and researching, I purchased some C4 sport seats. You can use your existing seat tracks with a touch of modification.

I reused my C3 seat tracks. Basically I turned the C5 seats upside down and laid the C3 tracks on top of them. From there you can visualize exactly where to drill holes in the C5 seats to make them fit the C3 tracks. The bottom of the C5 seats have nice wide aluminum flat surfaces in which to drill new holes. Mine were manual so I can't comment on the fit for power seats but probably similar if not the exact same.
