bad clone, IMHO. i mean, where's the CB radio???? either way though, i've gotta say that for 10K (which is what it sold for), i don't think it's a terrible thing. that is.... unless you're NCRS

For 10K it was a nice black and silver Corvette; peal off all the stickers and it's a nice weekender.

It says 10k but the reserve was not met.

I will never buy from a dealer no matter what.
Wow Matt atr least you came to your senses. You need to join the STL C3Sharks, just comming back from the darkside.....LT

Many, Many?. Thats a little subjective. Actually it was a little over 6,000, dont have my book here but I believe it was 6302, not sure. Is that many, many?......LT

Why wouldn't you change the seats to the 78 pace car editions that are so available? I wonder what other "details" they left out, like good bodywork and mechanicals. Run Away!

making your own pace car.. that's ok in my book. (how many times have we seen "Its your car, do what you want" posted here.

What does touble me about this car is the trans crossmember (pre-78 dual holes) no cat, the seats, the cheesy wood console, the valve covers, theres a rear defrost but no switch to turn it on) and other things that are 'a little odd'.

(I like wood consoles, but this one doesn't look quite right)

Yes, plus the seats are the deep bucket 79-82 style.

Pace Car replicas did NOT have CB radios as a standard option. They came standard with A/C, power door locks/windows, tilt/tele, cruise, the "nice" sound system, glass tops...

I know that FE7 (suspension pkg) and CB radio were optional, as well as engine/transmission choice. (Except where enforced, high alt / California)

Love how the Indy wing decal is on crooked.

Also, the hub caps are wrong, and the wheel windows need to be painted black.

"....Born silver 2-tone it was most likely an Aniversory model changed to the Pace Car Edition , you can't tell thou, it was well done...."

Sure, it's a bit deceptive, but as pointed out in the above thread, they do say that it isn't an original Pace Car but only KIND OF (aka twisting). The whole "you can't tell thou" line is a crack up...Now THAT is funny!

of course I can tell!
1.The seats= wrong
2. the stickers= wrong
3. the badge placement= wrong

but, at 10k for a clean C3, the price is fair

You would have to be pretty dense to read that and think this car was actually a Pace Car.

I did join, and by that I mean I hit up the website and filled out a profile. I've just been so busy with trying to find work, I haven't had much time for socializing... But I stay up on my emails. I see you guys hit up a few spots right by my place for food and beer, so I guess I need to meet some people asap.

Should anyone really care about 6500 "Pace Cars" There are more than enough low powered cars to go around. Another 40K of the same year automatic trans coupes are waiting to be snapped up. Better get in line I guess. I dont want to miss out a second time on these sweethearts..... :

coming from factory all the mid 70's cars were low powered, that is the challenge, awakening their full potential!

Paces did not have black center wheels and were highly polished. The seat are definitely wrong as Pace's have '79 style seats. The woodgrain console isn't right and I would be suspect of the Chevy orange engine paint scheme.....in '78 GM engines were all light blue. I suspect a Pace clone. Check the serial number of the car and block and this will tell you if it is a Pace. As Psce Cars were in high deman in '78 and high prices were being demanded, many SA's were converted.
