This was a factory concept, i believe they were going to call it the"corvette america" i am not sure about the name though. ugly, yes, but it is a cool part of forgotten corvette history, if memory serves it was canceled because it was going to be prohibitively expensive, and lets face it, its goofy looking. That being said, it would be cool to own. EDIT, you can tell its from the factory by that expert fit on the hood

No picture but I remember seeing one in about 78 that was completly covered in pennies. They had glued pennies to every bit of the fiberglass they could have. It weighed a ton. It was at a fabricators shop having some work done. Probably heavier duty springs. It was the ugliest thing I had seen and I was 15 at the time and thought anything Corvette was cool. Not this on though. It was a chrome bumper car also.

I rember seeing this concept back in 1977 and I think a 75 was used. It was in a mag but don't rember which one now.
