Default New emblem removal.....

A week or so ago I put an '84 "Corvette" emblem on the car. Now that I step back and look at it in good day light it appears to be not truly horizonal.....my wife says she can't see it. It's starting to bug me so I might try again. It is one of the "peel and stick" emblems. How can I take it off without damaging the finish. I had the car repainted this past fall. Any way to remove it cleanly???

Thanks!!

Heat the area up with a hair dryer and the adhesive will soften so you can gently peel it off. Good Luck.

on using fishing line instead of floss. Floss seems to break too easy.

Go to a parts store and get a small can of rubber cement (Acetone)thinner. It disolves the glue and will come right off with out damaging your paint!

I'm not exactly sure why you are asking WTF about putting an emblem on the car......I guess you are are asking why an '84 "Corvette" emblem on my '75. Well, I've done a little customizing (I know that sometimes that is a dirty word but I decided to do what I wanted to just because I've not done it before).....my white w/oxblood interior vert now has an '80s rear bumper. I wanted something on the back to kind of stand out a bit more than just the crome letters that are stock. The emblem is the black with dark red outline. With the dark red taillights it kind of stands out yet draws everything together. I am almost done with all the work and when I am I intend to post a few pics of the process.....both bumpers replaced, stripped and painted, and some custom exhaust cut-outs on the rear bumper.
