Default what is this?

This came off my 78 vette, im pretty sure it came off when I was doing my front pillar weatherstripping. I rememer it having weatherstripping inside the little folded area which was a pain to get out, so I feel it must go to it someplace, i think towards the top. I cant see it visibly on the passengers side, so where the hell does this thing go?

It's hard to tell from the pics, but weatherstripping has metal inserts embedded in the rubber that the screws go through when attaching it to the pillars. I'm guessing the rubber was torn off and the internal frame was left behind. Your part is likely trash that will be replaced when the new stripping is attached.

I agree with Wuttin, I just did my weatherstripping and that metal is embedded in the rubber.
