Default License Plate Light?

I decided to now post this questions after ordering the same part from Zip and Eckler's. I currently have the light socket with wire working fine, but I do not have the housing for the socket to go through for a 1976 rear bumper. I kept getting a spare tire light and license plate light housing which does not fit the hole in the bumper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this is the one that I ordered. The hole is too wide for it. Is there something else to hold it in place? Thanks.

I think the license plate light and the spare tire light are both the same part. They ARE on 78/79s at least.
Do you have the original spare tire light? I'd suggest removing it and comparing it to the Zip repro and seeing if the bolt spread is different. If so, put your original spare tire light on for the license plate and redrill the channel under the bumper for the repro.
