BB valve cover re-chrome?

BB valve cover re-chrome?
my 69 bb has the original valve covers and they are OK condition but one side has some surface rust. should i buy a new set or get the original rechromed? new correct are $450 and if they can be rechromed and look nice for around the same money, i'd rather rechrome. anyone have experience/cost of rechroem?

I see Zip has a set of repros at $129.95. This may be an option until you find a better set of OEM's at a swap meet.

It would be way cheaper.
Call some shops. I'm sure there would be a handful of shops that do chrome plating in a city the size of Portland.
I'd guess a fair price would be about $30 to $40 a piece.
