What's up guys? I:,thinkin of changin out my shifter ****;just for somethin different, and i was wondering if any of you guys know the tread size for a BWT shifter (80-4-speed)I know about the reverse lock and all that, but I was kind of leaning towards a HURST T-Handle.Is it possible? Is there a Hurst t-handle that will fit,or any other companies T-handle that will fit? Take the ball off and go to Ace hardware and find a bolt that will thread into the ball. That will tell you what size and type of thread you need for a new handle. Then get check out Jegs or Summit.

The Hurst T-Handles come with three different adapters that thread into the handle to fit different applications. Just buy one at the local parts store and you'll be fine. I think mine required the blue adapter to fit the Hurst shifter already in my car.

I think most shift *****/handles at the local parts stores come with a bunch of adapters since none are application specific.

I purchased a black chrome shift ball for my car from a vendor, but the threads were too large for the Hurst shifter. I got a suggestion here to cut a piece of rubber hose to fit in the ****. I tried it out and it's still in place. The rubber even absorbs some of the vibration.

I did exactly the same thing several years ago and it is still nice and tight - and yes, the vibration dampening is a great bonus!
