Default Wiper alignment 68 - 72

Please me the secret. I am struggling and the best I can get is minor hit hit on the down cycle. I'm using 16" blades. I've looked at the AIM and aligned them as shown. They still bind. Did 68 come with smaller blades.

I noticed another 68 thing. The stop at the bottom is at the end of the blade, not the middle as shown in the AIM. There is no way to overhange the blade.

I had trouble on mine when I first installed them, but I don't exactly remember what. I do remember that I had to use the original shells and use refills. The new replacement complete blades were too tall. Probably doesn't help much, sorry.

No problem. It looks like something is wrong, I just can't track it down. I'm guessing I have the wrong arms.

You may need to pull the left wiper arm off the spline shaft and turn it 1 tooth so it's slightly higher when on the down stroke or do the same on the right arm and move it down 1 tooth.

I know what you are talking about -- the same thing happened to me. The modern plastic blades will not allow the door to close. I found this out after I installed them...

Here are the pictures I was able to get.

1st the stop, here you can see where it's located from where the wiper motor should be.
I think your supposed to lift the passengerside arm over the stop while tightening everything up??

And a closeup

These 2 are the arms, driverside 1st

This one shows that the arms are keyed so no adjustment at this end.

These 2 show where the linkage both attach to the wiper motor and where the adjustments are made. I slid the adjustment pieces side to side so you can see what I'm referring to.

I can't find my spare wiper arms right now for measurements and it's not easy with them on the car. If you need though I'll go back and try.

Good pics. Forgot about the spline key. Definately make the adjustments at the center ball.

Now I see the problem, the passenger side blade is on the wrong side of the arm.

Can you post a picture of your wiper arms, on mine the blade slides on to a pin and can only go on one way.
Are you sure you have the right arms?

You get those back on their right sides you should be set, maybe just a little adjusting.

Bud,

Take a good look at my wiper arms, do both yours match the bends in mine.
The more I look the more it looks like you have the wrong passenger side arm.
You see how the bend on both yours are real close to the bottom while my passenger side has the bend up closer to the blade end?

I had to edit what I thought, it's tough scrolling up and back trying to keep things straight in this jumbled mind.

Your right the Passenger side is wrong. Now just trying to find one. I wonder if they used them on any other GM cars?
