Wow it WAS a hot day man, I couldn't get that fan close enough.
The beer was good and cold though.

Okay, front speakers, an amp, and an install kit.

There are some other small details, but that's the bulk of it.
No offense intended, but I suspect it did not sound good to you because your front speakers are not of high quality. Pioneer has some low quality stuff for good prices.

I think I'm going to put those Polk Speaker in the door panels. Right now there are Kenwood's in the dash and Rear. They seem decent. My biggest problem was & is the original Stock Radio. Even though I had it refurbished (making sure the tape deck worked & everything) it still sounds like crap. What a surprise, it's 26 Years old!
I see some "Replacement" units in the catelogs (Ecklers, Mid-Amer. & alike) that resemble stock units but have "upgrade" "Guts". I'd Like to know what you guys have heard (No pun intended) about those.
So here are the questions.
1. For just slightly above average sound, Should I replace the unit with something like what I described above. or Leave the stock unit in disconect it and put a better unit into the Passenger side storage bin with the "Small" amp. The Big Problem I see with this since 90% of the time when I drive it, I'm loaded with Show Ramps, Display Signage, Chairs, Cleaning Materials Etc. Trust me I am NOT getting into that Bin. so it would have to have a remote
2. Also I'm assuming a "small" amp could actually drive six speakers. I'm thinking I'll tied the dash & the door together as left & right Front, then have the Rear as Rear even though I can't hear them most of the time with the stuff piled high.
Thanks for the input. Great Thread,

im sitting here with a 5.1 setup on my computer, nice high quality speakers (logitech Z680s with an optical connection) and ive always got it set on 2x stereo. fronts and rears always playing. everything about it sounds better, and it sounds like im in the middle of it all. exact same thing ive found with my car speakers.
When it's closed up it "looks" stock, then Open the hood and "Bling" !!!
Or you could fire it up and the sound gives it away.
The car is a work in process. I'm not quite sure how "stock" or "Custom" I want to go. I'm leaning towards "Tastfully Personalized" and stuggleing to keep from getting too radical on things.
It's a dual Personality thing. No it isn't, Yes it is, No it isn't. . .
It's all fun & Money!
