Could I get a head count on how many members of this C3 forum are located in Rhode Island?
Does anyone of this group belong to the Corvette Club of Rhode Island? If so, please let me know how you like it and how "active" a club it is. I plan on joining this cruisin' season - hell, it's only $36 for the season You can't beat that!
I'm from Richmond. Own a 75 coupe in need of a lot of cosmetic work. Don't belong to any club. Originally from Mass. Any good parts places around buy most of my stuff from Corvettes and Classics in Taunton, Ma.
Bill from Cranston here, mine is a 78. I don't belong to any clubs but I went to a fund raiser put on by a club out of East Providence last summer that seemed like a nice bunch of guys. Of course my alzimers gene is kicking in and I cant remember the name of the club. I just discovered Corvettes and Classics out of Taunton last Fall, the parts counter guy seemed like a real decent guy. Nice to buy from a real person rather than only from onlilne. Most of the stuff I do get on line has been from Wilcox and Dr. Rebulid.
Hey ........... Im from RI. and I belong to CCRI but i cant make any club meetings because it falls on the same night as my union meeting Hope to make some events this summer Hammadown
Hey Guy's, My name is Steve and my 78 Vette is Ginga. Both of us are "from" RI. She was in good shape frame wise. When I bought it in 2000. That's about the only thing that is stock now. I am thinking of driving up to see my family this May June after going to Bowling Green at the end of May. I really like driven 12 months a year. I didn't build it to seat and look at it. Are the old cars still meeting in Garden City on Saturday?
Hey Steve,
I dont think they still meet in Garden City anymore. I think that ended when the Newport Creamry went bankrupt. The people that took over the Creamry did not keep up the tradition. Their still are a couple of good places though. Oakland Beach has a nice turnout, so does Slater Park in Pawtucket and another good one is at the old Cresent Park Carosell on Saturday nights.
Kung Fu, I think that is the same club, they meet in East Providene once a month. The guy that invited us to the fund raiser was Paul Rodreigez, has a nice old, I believe, Mercury Lead Sled.

Wow Slater Park in Pawtucket, I sent my youth in that park area. Ice skating, riding my bike and visiting the Zoo. I lived 5 blocks off Newport avenue. Member of the Eliminators of Pawtucket early sixties.Cruising Ratties car hop and the A&W Attleboro, Pink Elephant East Providence and Jolly Charlie's in North Attleboro.

Thanks for the ride down memory lane Dean. Kind of put me in the mood for some Stanleys burgers, a couple of weinies and a Coffee Milk or some " F's all the way with red bombs" from Havens Bros.
I left out another nice car get together, it is the one that is in the Stop & Shop parking lot up off I believe rte 122 in Cumberland or Lonsdale. This one usually has a good collection of Vettes and a good showing of C3s.
I'm Tom located in Cumberland with a 1974 coupe. Thanks for the the memories of good places in RI. Growing up in Pawtucket I remember Slater park. Also the A & W on Route 44 in (I think) Smithfield has a show every Tuesday night. I am not a member of any clubs but there is a club in Attloboro called Triboro and they are a nice bunch of people. Let me know if any of you find a nice club to join.
The name of that club that meets in East Prov. is called "Rhode Aces". I am not sure what is involved in joining but the group of guys I was yacking with at the fund raiser last year seemed like a great bunch. A lot of skinned knuckle nuts and bolts car guys as opposed to floormat and wax specialists. Very down to earth group.
Hey Guys, I found over the years clubs come and go. But the people stay the same. They all want me to join there club. Having friends in all the clubs. I decided to start my own. "Clubs of One" My philosophy behind it is. NO Money, No Meetings, No A$$holes, Life is good without the Politics. And everyone stay's friends
"I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members."
I have to admit though, I know exactly what you meant. I am like that when it comes to watching football. I enjoy it so much more when It is just me and the TV.
