Default Backwards clock and gauge lights

Am in the home stretch of new carpet, insulation and some other interior mods and refreshes.

Just put the center console back together and everything works, even the remote keyless lock system and the tach reset itself back to 0, with 1 exception - the gauge lights aren't working. All the gauges are working correctly, just now lights. I did replace the bulbs as a couple were dead.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

As for the clock, it was running backwards!!! As I am hitting the big 5 ooooH tomorrow, I thought it was a gift from the Corvette Gods and I will actually be getting younger and all the other cool emoticons!!! Used the search and found the solution. The reason for mentioning it is for anyone else who has this happen. The answer is to disconnect the neg. side of the battery. You might have to do it more than once. Damn those Corvette Gods...

Anyone have any ideas on this? All my other dash lights work (seat belt, gen. turn signals, high beam) but none of the gauge lights. Interior/dome lights are working and as is the switch. Fuse is ok also.

Thanks

I'm having the same problem with the same symptoms. Switch and fuse are good. I'm searching for a bad ground somewhere.

Found this thread that may "shed some light" on this. I need to now test the switch/dimmer coil.

my gauge lights are barely visible when on
I know my problem is the brightness control in the light switch.

Buzzz - Nope busted.

After tracing all the wires and running continuity tests it was then time to pull the dash cluster and that is where the problem is. The printed circuit board (aka mylar) was not passing voltage from the plug to the first light. All other lights after that did pass the test. So, our good friends at Willcox are now shipping me one.

Also one for the center console/gauges - because Murphy is very much alive and well.

I initially toyed with the idea that was in another posting here about altering the bulb holders and running a new homebrew wire system - but just can't get used to being called Bubba - even here in Alabama.
