You would regret it unless you are a professional welder/ fabricator. Look at the rust in the doors and the water running from behind the kick panel. I'd guarantee the car's birdcage is swiss cheese. It would all have to come out.
If you are looking to save this car and have about $30K over and above the purchase price, and a couple years of solid work this could be a nice car again. I agree with the others though... Based on close inspection of the pics, it is way far gone.
To much $ for the present condition. Maybe 3-4K. Then what! A S@hit load of work ahead of you. That's ok if you want a major project to do. Otherwise pass on it.
I agree with the previous posters. For $8500 it should be in a lot better shape than that. If they tell you the frame has rust it usually menas it is toast.
Shame on the seller for not providing enough info or pics to make a real good judgement. He may not know better or he may be hiding issues, you don't know until you look further. Owner is desperate (must go), so request more pics via email, or see if someone on the forum in that area will look at it for you. Any vert is worth checking out and making an offer.
I'm looking for a 70 - 72 and that's what I'm finding. These guys are nuts. Great buy for $4,000 that it!!! I'm sure there is frame and bird cage issues. It is a car I would go look at if close by.
He must be reading this forum or someone emailed him. It's no longer a "must sell" and he disclosed some info on the frame. Now I say the seller is playing games and pass on this one.
