Thank you very much! Yes I was missing the "V"

Would this be a reason to stay away from this 1974 Vette?

The HP seems about right for a 1975 motor, but wow did they restrict that output, how hard is it to up that?

Any idea what the torque specs are on this motor?

thanks

Well it sounds good, and felt ok, but I only test drove the car lightly, I didn't get into it, and only drove down a short road ,since the car has no plates on it.

but at 3400lbs with 163HP, it isn't fast no matter what, I'm guessing.

Just wanted to know if this was a good base engine, to start with, the car is in ok shape,. frame is nice, body needs paint badly, has some real bad alligator looking patches.

Other issue I saw .. Steering wheel has LOTS OF PLAY... I was told the "Rag Joint" was worn, not sure if that is even a real expression.

if the link works here are some pics, also has 1982 rear bump on this vette

thanks for the info...
If it is made in Mexico, is that a bad thing?

were you able to see the photos at the link I posted?

could a worn rag joint cause excessive play in the steering wheel?

A 1976 block would not have been built in Mexico. They didn't start till the 80's. The block will be a good base to build on.The C20 and C30 had four bolt mains. As far as the rag joint being the problem, yeah it could be, but expect more that that.

That's what the engine produced when installed in the original vehicle. No telling what's been done to it since then.

After looking at the pictures and seeing that it's a NOM base engine car with auto trans, incorrect colours, bad body work, bubba'd interior, questionable steering etc. - I hope the asking price is really really low.

You'll be financially upside down on this car as soon as you start spending money if that's a factor to you.

Edit: never mind, I saw your other post asking for value. Run away from this car, it's junk
