IMHO that's a bit high, first off it needs a complete strip and paint which can run you into some big $$$,
obviously not the original engine, got some major fluids leaking from the engine and/or power steering, probably needs a complete front end rebuild which will also be costly. interior not bad off but does need help.. But my main concern is with this.
Compare the two, on the first pic seems like the body mount is separating from the body.
seems like there is a rust hole in the frame where the crossmember meets...
have you pulled the kick panels to see how those body mounts are?
I don't see $5K worth of car here, I see a car that is going to take major $$$ to get presentable let alone dependable. I would add a few thousand to my buying price and find a better car to start with, they're out there. I think I would walk away..............
Seems a bit high to me. This is a lot of "project" and a little "car". You're looking at 3-4K to make the interior right...and that should be the last thing you do. I would run.
It will take alot to bring it around. Not sure about that hole in the frame where the cross member meats the rail. The car has too many layers of paint and will need to be completly stripped, includint the jambs. It's workable; just not a 5K car. Maybe $1500-$2500.
