Default Opinions on interior color.

My '71 is a Nevada Silver car. It originally came with red vinyl interior(which it still has).

I think its a neat combo, but I have never really liked the colored interiors for myself(no offense anyone). The car is not original...there is some custom stuff and I am not trying to go for a perfectly restored car.

The interior is so shot that it has to be replaced anyway, should I go back to red or go to black? Just looking for opinions!

Mine is red and is the original interior color. Right now I have the entire interior out of the car and I contemplating changing it over to black as well. I'm thinking it's going to be near impossible to get everything to match colorwise again if I go with red like it came from the factory. For example if I re-dye my dash and trim and then buy a set of new door panels and seat covers, will they match perfectly? With the black it going to be a lot hotter in there in the summer, however matching pieces colorwise should be a lot easier and will be less noticeable if there off a little. Plus most of the time buying replacement trim in black is cheaper than buying color pieces. I'm also going to be repainting my car soon and have more choices of color to go with if I have a black interior than with a red interior. Don't get me wrong I have seen some georgeous red interiors on this forum that are to die for and make Me think about staying with red also, who knows, I'll probably wind up with the black. Decisions, decisions.

I think, unless you are replacing every single thing, you'd be safer with black. I really like black and silver. My C3 is black with red and I love her combination, but I am trying to envision yours and I think I would shoot for black (but watch your rear in the summer, black is hell on your legs if you have on shorts ).

This is mine:

Hate to be a *tag along*, but black has always been my favorite interior color. And if you can keep it shiney and clean, a great exterior color too!

I vote for Black! Although I love Red as an exterior color, I can't stand it as an interior color. My favorite interior color is Saddle/Congac/Buckskin/Tan or whatever the variation is for any given year. IMHO Saddle adds more character than Black, but is more relaxing on the eyes than Red. However for a Silver exterior... Go Black.

I'm going black and red combo in mine. Black alone is just too darn hot here in the Summer
