255's on a '77?? I don't see how?? Must have done some mods or used spacers or something...
Can you guys give up a few more details?
Details:
1) Buy 255 tires.
2) Use stock rims or buy rims with proper backspacing.
3) Install 255 tires to 7" or larger rims.
4) Install wheel/tire combo to vehicle hubs
5) Set car back on ground.
6) Drive.
255s were options on 78 or 79 and later C3s, they fit fine on most earlier cars. A few have tire rubbing issues.

Thats what I was getting at. Won't the fronts rub on the frame when turned full left or right? And, won't the rears rub on the bracket that guides the parking brake cable down the trailing arm?
I have late model alu wheels with 255 and they rub!! But I don't mind it is only when I park and the front wheel are fully "turned" (probably not the best word for it).
