I don't know what to say to everyone, you guys are great! The night I decided to give up the car I was in tears. You all have changed that and have given me hope.
This was well on its way to being a great ride! I have been following the market for years. This is not a good time to sell. However there is a fair price for everything. The way I would estimate the fair market value of this project is: Estimate the sale price of the completed "Kick-***" custom 72 convertible at about $23-27K then subtract all the work still needed. Body work & Paint, dash, wiring, gauges, Complete Interior parts & assembly, chrome ETC all of these components must be accounted for or replaced.
Then consider the market for this project. 90% of people looking for a Corvette will not consider purchasing a project, even a nice one like this!
Therefore you must be patient about finding a buyer if you want to get top dollar for the great work you have already done.
Do the math... and advertise this with lots of pictures. Take your time!
Good Luck

I can completely relate to your situation and believe me, I understand the difficulty in making the decision to terminate the project. My health (heart and lungs) cratered 6 years ago. I was one year into my project Rolling Thunder. I have attempted several times to resurrect my project, but each time, health and stamina issues would lead me to put the cover back on it after only a small amount of progress.
Several months ago at the suggestion of one of my daughters, I contacted a talented local youth who goes to school and also works at a local body shop. We worked out a deal for him to do the work I could no longer do, while I still do what I can. It's a slow process, but we are making head way and I hope to soon take the car to his shop for paint.
Six years ago after 40 days in Vanderbilt University Medical Center I was given a prognosis of 3 to 5 years. I have since gone through a divorce (34 year marriage), gone through bouts of depression (damn I can't believe I admitted that) and waited for the grim reaper. I may not ever see my project completed, but until I draw my last breath I'm not going to give up. I dreamed about this car when I was in Nam and still have visions of driving it down the street. Sometimes..... it's what keeps me going.
Save your dream if you can. God Bless!
Dave
That,s what i,m talking about.
Got to keep up that head bro. You and i are cruzing in the same lane.
I havent given up and you don,t need to.
Craig, if your EF is 30% thats 38% of capacity or 26% better than you thought.
Keep up the great work...your much closer to finishing than you think...a few hours here and there and you'll be done for the nice fall cruising weather. As other have said, check into a local HS autoshop program. They'd go nuts for the chance to work on a 'vette.
Contact your local Highschool, they all have Automotive shop classes,
Find 1 that has a good Automotive facilities and a good teacher,
They will be Excited to take on your Project and finish it !
remeber the scoll year starts in the fall, plan to finish the car around the springtime, so 1 class starts and finishes your project,=project ownership and Pride, Just stress the quality you would like to acheive,
maybe buy the class a lunch or during the build.
PLAN for the class to put the car in a local upcoming big car show !
Pick a relaistic time to complete the project properly.
They will bust their *** to get the car done and in to the Car show !
good luck, .... I hope you find a method to finish your Dream,
at this point it is not about the Money .... 69VETT
Your Car appears to be headed in the Resto-Modified catorgory.
I know someone that likes to do those! I have forwarded you info.
to Chip Foose, you and your car seem like a good candidate to me,
even if an email or phone call may help alot.
Never hurts to ask for help,
and knowledgable man knows when to ask .
Good luck... send us pictures of your completed Project !
Hay GANG does anybody now how this can be pushed to the front of the WHOLE forum. That way all the VET GANG can see what is going on in the C-3 lane. You might get all the help you need and meet some rather interesting people. My Thanks to you and the rest of the servicemen/women out there and my throught and prayers are with you.
Like some of the gang has said look at the local schools and maybe someone can help on that. It sure did help on the chevelle.com awhile back.

GOOD LUCK and keep the faith wro87
well, there are folks from all gens over in OT - it's one area where it will get wider exposure.
I've read every post and haven't seen this suggestion. Many owners on this forum have more than one Vette, and they love C3 chrome convertibles and projects. Offer your car in trade for one that is complete and ready to drive. You might end up with a nice '73-'77 to drive and enjoy.
Whatever the outcome, good luck to you. Wish you were closer to the southeast so you could guide me as I worked and learned on your car.
In the July issue of Corvette Enthusiast the Corvette Club of Northern Delaware helped a first time owner of a 1980 Corvette. The seller refused to make go on the car when presented with the facts that the frame had 21 cracks in all. With help from CCND and donations from vendors the frame was replaced and some overhaul was done on re-assembly. A parts car was turned into a daily driver.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
