Audiophile Alert! Speaker Install Ahead...
Hope that everybody is welcoming the Spring by rubbing-up to their fiberglass beauties.
It was high time to produce some jams in the '76. I became the owner last June and have enjoyed listening to the L-82 growl, but time has come to get the Led out and create some soundz. The existing Kenwood was ill-fitting and dated plus the front speakers were mute, so the time has come for AUDIO!
I replaced the dash fronts with some tasty Pioneers- I prefer the dash to the kicks simply because the sound can bounce off the glass rather than massage my shins. Upon inspection of the punk Kenwood AM/FM, I discovered that Bubba had his way with the antennae cable:

....little wonder why the reception was crap. Severed antennae cable taped back together...Jeez....
I decided to install a retractable power antennae to dissuade any sociopaths from snapping the stick and purchased a pair of 6X9 Kenwoods for the back:

Looking over the tiny area of possibilities for rear speaker placement and scanning through the Forum, I elected to mount the rears against the back deck wall. After carving up some cardboard to fit the contours:

....I used the template to cut the speaker attachments using 1/2" ply and a jig-saw, then screwed the wood and speaker here:

There's plenty of room for the Targa-tops and the sound is full.

The head unit is simple: AM/FM with a jack for the iPod that I slipped between the console pads:

Here's the antennae which is enabled when the stereo is switched on and retracts upon cutting off the ignition:

Here's the car! The Great Pumpkin~

I hope this thread inspires other C3's that are looking for some sound while maximizing storage. This design works great and I didn't even screw into the gas tank! I was thinking about that as I was installing the rears.
Cheers to all this weekend!
