Hooking up the 2004R. Did you guys who've done it use the stock TH400 shifter cable? The bracket that bolts to the tranny doesnt have the same bolt hole pattern as the bolts on the 2004R...Do I need a special cable, or special bracket, or do I drill the existing bracket to fit the pan bolt spacing on the 2004R?
Also, there is MINIMAL clearance between the left rear of the tranny pan and the transmission support X-member, almost touches. Theres plenty of room on the right rear side. Normal?
I used the Th400 cable. The trans has a different plate but the cable attaches to it the same way. The pan is closer but it fits. I have not had any issues. The exhuast brackets that bolt to the TH400 won't fit so the pipes rattle once in a while. I was going to just weld some metal to the crossmember to clamp the pipes to but I haven't done it yet. I will probably wait until I need to replace the exhuast system.

Where did you get the mounting plate?? The bolt spacing is different from the 400. My 2004r didnt come with one. I'm switching to side exhaust so the xmember clearance wont be a problem.
