NICE DAY TODAY SO I TOOK OUT MY CAR AND WHEN I GUNNED IT IT BOGGED DOWN AND I HAD TO LAY OFF THE GAS AND THEN WHEN I SHIFTED AND FLOORED IT AGAIN IT DID IT AGAIN. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE AND HOW DID YOU FIX IT?
i think you had another post on this? maybe not you but a simmilar issue. anyway, it could be the fuel pump or, if it's a quadrajet carb, might need to rebuild the carb. i had an '84 camaro witha quadrajet that did the same thing, floor it, get to 3k and it would fall flat. if i kept my foot in it the car would actually shut off, if i lifted and then got back in it the car would run, sorta. check your fuel pump output and if it's ok betcha you need a carb rebuild.
accelerator pump. Engine off and a flashlight look down at throttle plate and see if gas is squirted as you accelerate with your hand. Remember engine off if this thing back fires you will have a new hair style or fancy eyebrows.

I just posted something on this a while back, same thing was happening to my '68. I took the carb off and took it apart, accelerator pump was cracked, but I didn't stop there, also found out that my inline filter was clogged. and now I have most of the engine taken apart, I got the "while I'm at it" bug. I rebuilt the carb, I pulled the distributor to rebuild, tach wasn't working so I got the rebuild kit, I am replacing the fuel lines, dropping the tank to clean out, I will be putting everything back together this saturday. But I am pretty sure with the filter being clogged and the accelerator pump being shot that this was my main problem..

Mine was doing this also, just bogging big time, put in the shop for a variety of things one of which, the bogging issue.
He replaced the two fuel filters, one in/near the carb, the other inline and drives 80% better...

Depending in the year, you might drop your tank and look at the fuel sock in your gas tank. It can collapse when heavy pressure is put on it (like when you floor the gas)
just another possibility, but that was the fix for mine
