I just replaced my power steering pump on my 76. does anyone know how much fluid I should put in it now? is there a line on the inside of the pump or something?

On my 1976,...there is a stick made to the inside of the power steering pump cap. Unscrew the cap and there should be a dip stick on the inside. The dip stick is marked, LOW and FULL.

The dipstick should be part of the cap. Be careful how much you add because the fluid expands when hot. If you overfill the resevoir the fluid can foam and cause pump damage.

Fill it to the cold mark on the stick, Properly bleed the system, check it again and add any if necessary. Check it again after driving it for a day or so and add more if required. You should be ok then.
