And red interiors? I wanted an 82 with black interior didn’t make it so I bought an 82 and changed it from red to black/charcoal. Now looking for a another one (Chrome bumper if possible) and the majority of vettes for sale have red interiors….was it cheaper or something? Not that there’s anything wrong with red!!

It took me MANY months of looking to find a '70-72 with black interior. That was one of my 4 Must Have items (Black Interior, P/S, 4spd, and A/C). Ended up with a loaded '71 minus the BB and rear defogger.
That's odd, I seldom see a red interior. Most I see are black. Maybe the ones for sale are red because the seller didn't like the red interior. The only ones I have noticed lately with red interior are white cars.
black int. was also a must for me when i bought my 72. also had to have working air PB, PS, but most importantly it had to be a BB. BUT WITH THIS BEING SAID I REALLY DIDNT COME ACROSS TOO MANT RED INTERIORS when looking but i did see way too mant red exteriors. im part blame for that since i painted my 70 red that was originally a copper color. not that i dont like red but just seems like too many out there.
That's actually unusual, what you've observed. For 1971 model year, red interiors are the fewest. Here are some percentage breakdowns for the model year.
Black vinyl 35.9%
Black leather 11.9%
Saddle vinyl 15.2%
Saddle leather 9.7%
Red vinyl 5.7%
Dark blue vinyl 14.8%
Dark green vinyl 7.3%
I think the colored interiors are cool. Kind of a period look. My '71 Roadster had a blue interior and my '72 Le Mans has a dark green interior. It's like a time machine.
