Default Body static before paint?

Will static electricty in the fiberglass body have any effect
on paint job? If so, how do you get rid of it?

Thanks in advance. glassman74

In some cases it can, my painter mentioned this in fear of attracting to much dust particles,,, there is a method that exists of grounding the car during painting, in my case he did not do anything special because I was wet sanding and polishing afterwards.

Painter who did mine used a chain, said he didn't want to take a chance on blowing up his booth.

Definatly use the chain and I'd even add a bit of water around where the chain meets the floor for more insurance of a ground.
I'm not sure though how well that would work on fiberglass in getting the static at bay.

Curious to see what other suggestions are going to be made on this post.

just run a ground wire to a known ground. i do this on my job to discharge any stored electricity in the generator before we change the carbon brushes.
