Default bezel removal

Need help! My car (80 L-82) is at the sound shop and I bought a new bezel but the tech is having problems getting the old one out. I printed out a discussion from a previous post. There are 4 obvious screws and the fasteners to the shift console, Are the other two also facing upwards under the thingy between the vents? If so are they screwed in from above or are those just to hold the thingy (technical term) to the bezel? Any help would be appreciated as we have been having some long conversations about cutting the original bezel.
Thanks in advance, Weldon

Just remove the screws and bend the top part of the bezel downward slightly. The entire bezel will come out. It does come out hard though, ask how I know. Really nice looking car you got there!!!!

it took a couple of read throughs... at first I thought, headlight bezel? then speedo/tach bezel? then.. ah... 5 gauges in center console bezel.

there are 2 screws under the lower part that screw into the gauge part. so

2 in the rear near the parking brake

2 on each side front and rear (remove rug panels)

2 hidden underneath up near heater control

Thanks for the help, bezel is out and the installation is in full swing.
80vette, might I say the same about yours. Maybe we are just partial, the photo on the avatar doesn't do justice to the car as I just got it back from the painter and the new bumper covers look sick, along with LED tail lights. It's really looking good.

the sound guy had all the screws out but was afraid to pull on it so I took it out after work.
