I want to put down some heat and noise reducer on the floor.. I have seen some on zipp and ecklers.. Anyone in the foreum have any other places to get some good stuff at a good price??
A lot of forum members are installing Reflectix from Lowe's and Home Depot (cheapest). I just bought some but haven't installed it yet. If you do a search ... you should get lots of hits w/ pics and comments.
I just installed the reflex stuff today. It took 1-roll of reflex and 2-rolls of the reflex tape, I got it at Home Depot for around $20 for everything. Its really easy to work with. Cuts with scissors.
Do a search, there is a bunch of write ups on it.
Good luck

In my 78 i put down 36 sq ft of Dynamat Extreme for sound and over that I put reflectix one roll for heat and sealed with foil tape. Next comes the jute pad and carpet. Still in install stage. Dynamat $100 Reflectix and tape $40 Of course jute and carpet ?????
Reflectix comes in 25' rolls ... 16", 24", and 48" wide (that I know of). Another thread said they used 1 1/2 rolls of 16", so I got 2 rolls. Also recommended was a spray can of 3M Drywell Corner Bead Spray Adhesive.
You may also want to try this for heat reduction...got these plastic shields on my 69 with insulation between shield and footwells...ZIP has shields/hardware...you can get insulation at hardware store..attack heat at the source...
I live in a hot climate...97 F yesterday..

I, too, used Reflectix from Lowes....but I took it one step further... I sprayed the entire floor, riser and rear section with the spray undercoat material I purchased from AutoZone...took 2 cans. After it dried (the next day) that's when I installed the Reflectix then the carpet....
Reflectix is a good product...cheap,easy to install...but not much good against radiant heat in a hot dry climates by itself...but most of you guys don't see 112 F air temps anyway...which means surface temps of 150 F....take mini temp gun readings on your exterior footwells sometime in hot weather after driving...you may be suprised how high temps are on those footwells...especially near exhaust...
