How rare is a Z07 L-82 A/C. PW, PB, PS convertible? I am told they are fairly rare.

According to the Black Book, Z07, Off Road Suspension and Brake Package, only had 144 produced.

Now break that down to convertibles and the L-82 engine was only offered from late March to July. Not very many!!!

Sounds pretty rare..I didn't know it even existed. I am willing to bet not too many others did either.

You may have a gem in the future!

All Z07s had the L82 in 1975.

How can you tell if a car came with the ZO7 package? I've been desperately trying to figure this out, since you never really do know. My build sheet is crap. This is all I've really found:

"The Z07 package was available only with L82 engines and required M21 transmission. It included FE7's special front and rear suspension, plus heavy-duty front and rear power brakes ."

Well, it will have the rare dual pin front brake calipers like used on the L88 and ZR1.

Also requires an optional engine so they will all have either L82s or 454s.

No A/C on the Z07 until 75.

7 leaf HD rear spring and 550 lb front coils.

Not much to go on unless you have the dual pin brakes.

Got a rear sway bar?

The dual-pin calipers would seem to be the dead giveaway, if they haven't been replaced.

...in the last decade or so of my "Corvette Travels", I've viewed ONLY three original '75 Z07 cars. Being that only "144" were ever made, it certainly isn't a car you see every day. With only 2372 '75 L-82's made, you don't see those everyday either.

Thanks to all of you. It appears I have either a good fake or the real thing. The car has 3 owners before me. I've been able to document who they are and am in the process of contacting them. The owner before me confirms the car is correct and he did nothing to it.

Paul you're making me feel guilty for not restoring mine to original condition

Not to mention only 1,057 close ratio ST-10s. Maybe I should keep it all-original...

Back in 1975 I almost bought a brand new ZO7 equipped Red with saddle interior CONVERTIBLE 4 speed Vette. The car was in the showroom and I remember offering the dealer $8,000 with tax included. He wanted $8,000 plus tax. I told him that I would find another Vette at some other dealer and would come back to his dealership and that the Red Vette would still be in his showroom. I bought the Vette that is in my avatar and the red Vette was still in his showroom. I was not too keen on the red with saddle color combination or I would have given in too the offer. I never forgot about what might have been had the color combination been something else.
