I purchased this stock looking shifter handle to go on the hurst shifter in my 69 vette.
On one side of the handle, there is a piece of metal strip that looks like a tongue going up from the reverse lockout all the way up to the base of the ball/**** (You can't see the tongue in the picture above because it's on the other side).
Now.. Should I install the handle in such a way that the tongue faces the windshield or towards the driver?

Are you talking about the groove the reverse lock-out rides in when you pull up on the ears?
If so that groove faces towards the front of the car I believe - I'd have took at mine again.
