72 hood release
I am working on a 72. Trying to reassemble the drivers side hood release that mounts on the firewall. Having trouble putting tesion spring back on. The spring I have is about 3/4" in diameter and 1 1/4' long. Doesnt seem to want to clear when installed. I would apreciate a pic or advice as to where I am going wrong.

the coils are vertical and face the outside of the car. the coil should have a bend on each end that forms a hook. the front bend inserts upward into the retaining hole, the back bend inserts from the top. it's nothing complex. if you can't get it, pm me with your email and i'll send a pic tomorrow.
