I subscribe to Corvette Fever and Vette just to have some airplane reading fodder. C-3 coverage is hit and miss in both. This Forum is still the best info site available.
Each mag caters to different Corvette audience but attempts to overlap. NCRS forum had a thread on this and by far, Corvette Enthusiast was a favorite due to the technical articles for early C1-C3 Corvettes. Vette Vues was an also mentioned.
Fever is going after the C4 C5 markets...like the retrovette crowd.
Corvette Enthusiast is awesome. Every month, they detail something from each generation, so every month, there's cool reads for C3 owners, C4, etc. The latest issue has a great article on Corvette frames you can buy brand new, from a guy who makes them using the original jigs and equipment from GM/A.O. Smith.

Great tech articles and they cover everything from C1 - C6. John Hinckley has an article in each issue. That alone is worth it!
I get em all but look forward to Corvette Enthusiast the most each month. Not to mention that a particular blue C3 just might be in one of the upcoming issues!!!

Yep, John is the reason I got my subscription to CE.
BTW, besides John's GREAT article on the C1, C2, C3 repro frames in the lastest issue that just came out and is pictured I have an article in there this month. My first!
Check out the '80 replacement frame story.

Congrats Barry! Can I get your autograph at Carlisle!
It's good to see real world experience get published.
BTW, since we finished the frame replacement back in Nov he has been working on other parts of the car over the winter and now has it on the road. It still isn't "pretty" since it needs bodywork and paint bad but he tells me that the interior cleaned up fairy well (it needed a lot of help!) and he was also making the engine bay look better, spicing it up with some chrome parts, etc.
He also got it to the alignment shop and registered so he driving it now and very happy.
I couldn't decide so I've been getting Corvette Fever, Corvette Enthusiast and Corvette Magazine for the last 3-4 years. They are each a little different and all good. Corvette magazine has the best writing style IMO if you appreciate that kind of thing ...and also follows Corvette racing more if you are into that. I'd say C/M leans more towards C5/C4's with a lot of C6 coverage lately. When they do have articles about C3's they are usually great historical pieces.
Corvette Enthusiast is good. More tech articles. A smattering of C3 articles.
Corvette Fever has improved quite a bit in the last few years IMO. They tend to have more C3 articles and I really find I like their magazine more and more.
I think if I had only one to pick, I'd probably pick Corvette Fever. Try them all for a year and see what you think.
One thing I did that was really fun is I bought a big 10" tall stack of Corvette magazines from 1979 - 1984. It cost me like $35 on Ebay. I really enjoyed reading them, much more than I thought I would. My car is a 81 and they were new cars back then and getting a lot of attention. So, there are a lot of articles about them and period customizing techniques. It really refreshed my sense of what the mood of the country and drivers was like back then. It sounds like a lot of money, but not much more than a couple yrs of a subscription.
I thought you were joking. I really didn't know it was still around. I have a bunch from the 70's. Whole different animal to the other mainstream ones.

Barry,
Finally read your article. Sounds like this was quite a project to take on, but it all worked out. It's good to see that a new generation of younger Covette owners is alive and doing well. You and the others that participated in this project should be congratulated for the good work you did.
I buy them at Borders every month so if there is crap in them i just browse through them. When i go to these vette shows with swap meets i buy the old mags that have all C3 stuff.
