Hood Cable
Howdy Guys,
Had the cable between the latches break on a 78 and saw in the posts on the problem that GM still lists the cable. Anyone got the part number for the cable? Also, there are two springs on each latch, a spiral wound type and a bent wire type. Anyone know where I can find the bent wire one for the drivers side latch? Any help is appreciated!

cable is available from numerous vendors, your choice for your price. The replacement cables come with a plastic tab that the small bolts hold to the firewall just before it goes into the latch. I have had the plastic tabs break off. Corvette America has a metal clamp that you can buy also that will replace the tab instead of having to buy a whole new cable. My last replacement cable lasted 3 months before it broke. I put the metal clamps on and its holding strong.
