Default Any Steeroids users?

I'd like to hear the thoughts of some people who upgraded a 100% properly functioning working steering system to steeroids and what they thought of the differences and whether it was worth the price over the stock setup (yes, I know they're a supporting vendor and that sometimes sways peoples opinions, but it seems like a really nice setup - just kind of pricey).

The reason I'm asking for someone with an "as intended by GM" setup vs. someone who needed to replace theirs is because after your steering gets old and sloppy ANY new setup would be a major improvement, so I'd like to hear from someone who already had it as good as it could possibly be, then upgraded, and how they felt about the differences.

Trying to decide between replacing the stock steering setup, steeroids, or doing the Jeep box thing.

I have a steeroids setup for over a year and 4000 miles. There is no going back for me.

I have documented my setup and have made some comments here:

Go with the steeroids thats my vote.I hated the stock steerring system, control valves leaking hoses leaking.gearbox wearing out etc etc.Its a very simple install and a vast improvement in steering and no maintenance to date.3 yrs.I can finnaly look underneath my vett and not see power steering fluid leaking from somewhere. The final adjusment of the steering u joint and knuckle can be tricky but is worth it.[IMG][/IMG]

We went from nonpower stock to a power rack, the difference is huge. steeroids bent over backwards to support us for our special applications and the systems literally bolted in

Definitely not factory ... already replaced the tranny with a 700 R4, gears, exhaust, and now swapping out the L-82.

I don't have any leaks, there is just a lot more play in it than there should be and (especially at high speeds) I'm constantly correcting the steering to keep it straight, even when the alignment is fine. Neither the 68 nor the 81 have this problem, but both have been replaced with a new factory setup within the last 10 years. So I know how it's "supposed to" handle, and this ain't it.

My 383 will be done next week and I started thinking about how much harder it's going to be to control with 550 HP, so I gotta do something with this ... it also works as (yet another) "while I'm at it" since the original motor will be out for a day or so I'll have plenty of room to work.

So that's why I'm asking if steeroids is vastly superior to the "as GM intended" steering, or if the original setup will be fine. Intended use is going to be autocross, road courses, and some road races.
