hello all, here is my first update on my 81 corvette.
the project...
81 corvette restoration/supercharged 427 pushing 900+ hp on pump gas.
I pulled the motor tonight. I started at 5and finished at 11.lol way too long but I had a hell of a time getting to a few bolts. when I got the motor out I found that one of the motor mounts was broken in half :wtf:
that has to be the dirtiest motor ive ever seen.
I plan to get the Trans out tomorrow and test fit the 427 to make sure it will mount right up. if not then I see new motor mounts in my future. ill take some more pics of what im working with tomorrow when its light.
well that's it for now, ill update this thread as I get more done.

Don't Do It! I tried to tell a friend that supercharging his 69 427 was nuts, and that it will be TOO powerful.. Now, after $50k in a restoration, he has his 6-71 sticking out of the hood, and he says-"you were right, this thing is crazy. It gets sideways at 80 when you step on it!". He is only running 5 pounds of boost, 650hp/650 torque. Now he drives it once a year, maybe. I think it is a shame that such a beautiful car can't be driven around on a nice day.
I hope you plan on a Toms rear setup or a solid axle back there. It will take the rear you have and chew it up very quickly.
supercharging a c3 is very doable, ive seen it done a few times with good results.
yes a solid back axle is my plan. I still have a lot of research to do in that area.
si! yellow 72 , if you dont mind me asking how do you like yours?
my 350 looked like it was dunked in a tank of oil then put in the middle of a dust storm. i sealed every open hole today and i plan to clean it like new tomarrow. wach out guys i got the goahead to sell it, so it will be for sale soon. numbers matching 350 with only 9348miles on it.

It's a ton of fun to play with. Practical for a daily driver? I don't think so.
But mine is a sparingly driven, Oh Lord do I dare say it?.....
Garage queen/show & shine/fair weather Sunday cruisin' hot rod.

that's the whole reason im building mine. I want to take it to shows, put about 100 miles on it a year and maybe kill some tires every now and then. oh yea and annoys the hell out of my a hole neighbors. i would never consider it as a daily driver with gas a almost 4$ right now. and the fact thats its a corvette. c3 corvette = weekend fun
and it only going to be a reg 427, dont have the $ to stroke it and dont see the point since it will be blown. that's enough hp already.

well here's the first update of many more if your interested in my project.
I got the engine compartment striped and have started painting it. im painting with the spray in beadliner that comes in a rattle can made by dupli color. it acutely looks very good. I still need to sandblast all the frame in there but that wont happen for a couple weeks.
I also got the 427 and Trans in to test fit it. not happy with the oil pan fit. other then that every thing went very smooth. I had it in in 30min with no help.
I also installed a hood pin kit which looks very sharp. I will post pics of that later.
I just bought a small powder coating machine so I can do all, well most of the front steering components. im limited to things that fit in the oven.lol
also got my blower in, heres the ebay pic of it. its like new on the inside. ill polish it up and it will look amazing.
thanks
