I replaced the rear rotors on my Vette. I shimmed them, so runout isn't more than .002. It's more like .001, which is within spec.
The right rear rotor starts cyclically squeaking, especially after it's been driven a few miles. Do I have a dragging caliper? The calipers are 1 year old, O-ring style.
Heading off to O.C. Maryland in about 10 days and don't want to pull into town sounding like a washing machine...Thanks.

Hi Mark....hope you been doing well.
My 72 made a similar noise...UNTIL...pressure was applied to the pedal. It was annoying. I took that rotor and had it "turned". The shop said it was not warped, but it stopped the clicky clacky noise.
I hate to have it turned, since I spent all that time shimming it to the hub. What is garnet paper? Is that like emery cloth? The pads are new with the calipers, less than 2 years old, less than 2k miles.
Maybe I'll try shimming it again and get it "perfect". Ugh.
