Is there ANYTHING to use to seal brass fuel line fittings? I dont recall ever using anything, but the elbow fitting on my fuel pump has a very slight leak, and tightening it further will turn it too far to connect the fuel line (without further mod)...maybe a tape or a Permatex-type product??
I just thought of another good sealer Blue lock tight. I use it to seal up helium leaks in brass fittings all the time at work. You can still get the fitting apart with no problem. Just make sure you let it dry before putting it to the test. I haven’t had much luck with the paste for pipefittings, I’m sure it works well just not for me.
The threads aren't the problem. The fuel line uses inverted flare fittings if you are leaking gas it is from the flare, the threads only press the two ends together to make the seal. I would look at the mating surface and see if there is a crack.
You can use teflon tape with no future leaks.
Leave the first thread bare so there is no chance it gets into the carb filter and wrap no more than 4 times. When tightening, don't back up.
