After trying many things to solve my problem of 2 cylinders who were not working, i finaly opted to buy a crate engine. I have ordered a 350/ 290 HP GM performance part. This way i will detail the engine bay as well. Everything will be new, engine, intake and carb (edelbrock), distributor (MSD).
The old engine wasn't the original one, so it doesn't hurt to change it.
Awesome, you'll really like the feel of a crate engine. I have bought two for past Corvettes and really love them. That being said, I like building them more.

I will take the old one appart when my car is finish and will find out what was wrong with it. Might rebuild it later for fun.
While I realize you just placed your order, Chevy High Performance magazine did an upgrade on a 290Hp crate engine about 6 months ago. As I remember they got somewhere around 400 hp out of it with not a lot of changes, FYI.

Wish I could find that article. I did a quick search on their website and couldn't find it. I am putting some serious thought in upgrading the 290hp crate engine that I put in my 75 about a year ago.
Congrats on your new engine and good luck with it!

You'll be upgrading soon. Horsepower is addicting.
