well guys, after a couple of years owning the 77 vette, i realized i rarely drove it since i have two small girls and a wife and needed something with four seats. i decided on one day to put my car for sale locally so i drove it to the entrance of my neighborhood and taped a for sale sign on it with my phone number. well, i had to walk back to my house (about 1/4 mile) and had 7 phone calls so i went back in my truck and there were two guys there waiting for me. there was a small bidding war between the two and, well, the highest bidder won. two hours later, i had a pocketfull of $100 dollar bills and no corvette. so i immediately got online and found a jeep, which is a toy i've always wanted and never had. so, two days later, i drove to austin and picked up my jeep with some of those $100 dollar bills and still put a bunch of them in the bank. i've really enjoyed this forum and will check in frequently to see what's going on and i WILL have another corvette someday. i've attached what i got to replace the vette in the garage for now.[IMG][/IMG]
well I hate to see a Corvette leaving the forum, but I think you did the right thing, good story though, must have been a nice vette for it to sell in just a couple hours!
Hate to see a vette go out for a jeep, or any dodge product! A rugged thing like that should easily been able to brave the elements while the vette stays inside until the weekend trips to the store with each daughter. Oh well, hopefully the car went to someone that really loves the cars and not to who ever has the deepest pockets. Good luck with the Jeep!
Sorry to see your Vette go but I have always liked Jeeps too and like your purchase. I'm sure you Vette went to a good home, and hopefully it's someone in your neighborhood.
I also have 2 small children and a wife- however my wife and daughter get car sick very easily- so they do not enjoy cruising. My son however (now 6) does not get car sick and enjoys driving around with me- so the Vette fits nice with our family.
At least you got something else fun to drive - and not an econo box! I had a jeep (top off fun with room for 4) when my kids were small. Now with only 1 left at home I got the Vette! It will come back around.
It's funny...I keep seeing people who sell their Corvettes because they have kids and there's not enough seats. We actually BOUGHT our Corvette because it only has 2 seats. It's a nice getaway for us to do something together sometimes...and we never have room for the kids so it makes it easy. I think it helps our marriage.
Oh, almost forgot. Thanks for your service to the community. My brother is PO and while I could never do what you both do, I have the utmost respect for the men (and women) who do your job!

i just saw my old car (two weeks without it) today and the new owner has already done some work that i always wanted to do but never did...he got the a/c back in and working, fixed the blinker/wiper stem, and he put the rally wheels back on. the guy seems to really be taking care of it. just wanted the forum to know that at least it apparently went to someone who will treat it the way it should be treated....
