There are many running that combo with no problems. I am running 255/60/15 on all fours no problem but I have an 81 and understand the early C3s have clearance problems on the fronts with 255.
you can run the 235/60's front & 255/60's rear. I have 245/60's front & 255/60's rear. my .02 I think the 235/60's look too small and do not fill in the wheel well.
If your thinking tire rub on the inner fender you can run 225/70's front & 255/60's rear..........That way the side wall will be the same height.
What do you think of 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear- any potential problems mixing the two sizes?
I've been running 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear for about 10 years with no problems. I'm using 8.5" wide rims and it's on a '74 and I had rubbing problems with the 255's on the front. Went to the 235's for the clearance.

I have 255/60/15 at the back and 235/60/15 in front on my '78 for the last 15 years and never had any problem. The only thing i did was raising the back just a bit to have the same gap between the tire and fenders.
