Default Finally got my Halibrands on

I've had these brand new Halibrand 5-spokes forever. This winter, I got around to installing my new offset trailing arms, fiberglass springs, and had my rear wheel bearings done. Here are a few pictures of the new wheels.

And a picture of our daughter taking a picture of the new wheels...

Ha. That's Max, the 17 year old. He's wearing his "I better do my chores or my mom is going to kill me" sweats. He was a big help in getting the trailing arms bolts back through the new trailing arms.

Ohhh, that one. That's the Pontiac Le Mans. Nice little Pontiac 400 and Muncie 4-speed.

I am so glad you posted this. I am just now considering those same rims. Are they the 15x8 size? Did you order them direct? I have seen their on line store and just about ready to spring for some but want to be sure I get the right backspacing. Please post the details and what tire size you have, and if you've had any rubs.

They are 15x8s, with the stock backspacing of the Rallye Wheels (4"?) They fit fine on the front, but I had a problem where they interfered with the parking brake bracket on the trailing arm and the rear spring. It wasn't a big deal, since I wanted a new spring and offset trailing arms any way. I got a 1" shorter spring from Van Steel, and they fit just fine. I tried a 255/60R15 BFG on the front, but they rubbed the frame in tight corners, so I went with the 235/60R15, which I had on the car previously. The rears are 255/60R15. Some C3s may not have the interference problem that I had on the rear. The owner of Halibrand has a C3 and used the stock trailing arms and spring with no modifications.

They make those 10 miles from my house. They have a small car show in the spring or used to. I don't know if they still do or not. You could tour where they make the wheels. I should take my car over and let them "test fit" all there new wheels for vettes. You never know, they might give me a free sample.

Looks good! I also like that "Old School" look.

I'm not familiar with that brand though,.......to me they look kind of like the Torque Thrust wheels. (what's the difference between the two?)

Hallibrand was the original 5 spoke mag [for magnesium] wheel. Maybe that is why torq thrusts look so much like them.
