Friday I went to the doctor because my elbows are both aching more and more to the point where it almost all the time now.
He checked me out and said I have tennis elbow and that I should take it easy for a couple of months and do stretches and other excercies to strengthen and give the tendons time to heal.
That means no working on the Vette and also I should be keeping computer time to a minimum, which is hard because of my job.
I was hoping to get my Vette on the road this summer but it looks like this isn't going to happen.
So all that said, should I call it quits and sell the Vette and buy a C6 or something like that or wait it out? I am so discouraged because of the set back and the extra time its going to take now.
Unless it is a really bad case of tennis elbow, it shouldn't put you out. I had it too and I just bought a band that goes around your forearm. Within a week or two it was gone, but I could still work on teh vette with it!
I'm in the same boat. My left arm has been buggered for 4 months now. Just saw Dr. 2 days ago and said I have tendonitis. Got to go for therapy next week. I'm kind of thinking my elbow will be buggered 'at least' the summer. I put in a rack and pinion last month - thank g#d for friends , cause I'm basically down to one good arm. I'd say put the C3 aside for now , but don't sell it. You'll regret it later - and thats for sure!
BTW - I just got hold of some 99% DMSO. Google it. A friend swears by it. I haven't tried it yet.
wait it out, you have too much into it to stop now. i had a very bad case of it. it would hurt all the time. it took a lot of rest, i had to stop working out and i had to change from a mouse to a track ball so it would heal. it took close to 3 months. i have had no problems with it comming back and that was a few years ago. take a break for a little while and finish it when you get better. you will be glad you did the first time you take it out.
For what you would pay for a newer Vette couldn't you farm out some of the work? Your year of car is going up in value, not the newer ones. If you finish and decide to sell, cash out. This year is like money in the bank.
It'll do you good to get away from it for a couple of months. There's probably no way you can recover your investment at this point, project cars sell CHEAP. Wait it out, it looks like you're well past half-way in the project anyway.
Good luck!

I wouldn't make long term decisions on your car based on a short term health problem. Like the others have said, take a break, get well and then go back at it with renewed enthusiasm. Good luck with your recovery and your Vette
By all means do not give up! You will regret selling your vette. Give yourself time to heal, when you feel better you will look at things differently. I have a very bad back and bad knees, I work on mine when I am able to. I already sold a 63 split window and regret that, I will not sell this one. Just remember you will feel better.
I too had tennis elbow. My job was working at the keyboard all day long and I did buy one of those arm bands. The worst thing for tennis elbow is typing on the computer. Went to therapy for about 3 months, did all the exercises, changed using the mouse on the computer to my left hand, etc.
Met with the therapist and we both agreed we were getting nowhere. Told the doc to give me a cortisone shot. Problem solved within hours.
Wasted 3 months of copayments and time on therapy.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Cortisone got directly to the inflamed area in my case.
PS. that was 2 years ago.
No don't give up on it. Take a little time away from it and take care of the elbow. I have it in my left one and it hurts like a bastard sometimes. It has taken me 2 years to get my car as far as I have and might take annother one to get it finished because I just got laid off.
Load up on Glucosamine and Condroiten, do the heat and ice therapy, get a strap and take it easy for a while and then get back on it.

The break will be good away from the project. You will have renewed energy, a sort of second wind, that will help your project reach completion. If you give it up now, you will regret that decision in the future. Hang in there.
give yourself the time to get better,
put yr project aside,
enjoy the summer
and start back working on it by the end of the year
wish you all the best !

get some Alieve I take it. Take a break/or get a helper.
I went through the same thing with elbow and shoulder problems. It can really get you down to be in pain all the time. As one other poster said try MSM. It really made a difference for me.
