Default Last mod before hitting the road - advice

Hi all.
I am almost ready to bring out my car. All I have left to do is to fit the t tops from a 79. (mine is a 76) I bought the pin receiver hardware that goes in the doorframe, but it doesnt match up (surprise). Do I get the drill out? is there an easier fix? Will the pin find and use the existing hole (where the triangular bolt was)? Do I abandon the project and enjoy the summer without the blue glass tops?

Thanks for any advice
Bill

I have a set of glass t-top from a 78 I used to own. It fits my 69 perfectly if I remove the triangular bolt. The pin from the 78 t-tops goes into the hole for the triangular bolt. I actually drove around like that for a while.

I am thinking of drilling a hole through the triangular bolt so that it will serve as a sleeve for the t-top pin when I put on my glass t-top and still work with my original 69 t-top.
