MAN I dont think that A person of religion should or want to do A motor mount I cussed every word in the book at one point my girl came out to the garage to see who i was yelling at ( it was the plug wire i stuck up and got hung up in the motor mount Im taking those wires out of all that chrome and taking them out of the motor mount area and putting them back like a normal car my car is far from perfect I actually think it will make the engine area look better. The one side took me about 2 hours but it was all oiley from the valve cover from before I fixed that but the other side(rusted some) should be easier to get to Im hoping,I pre greased it last night, The best way I found is hook the mount to the engine then get a sissor jack jack it up till its holding the engine (should be a jack there already I used my floor jack to get it out, but my sissor jack worked way better going back in.jack it up till its the only jack holding the motor, then just start lowering it till the long Horizonal bolt slips through, tighten it up wash hands go in .not in my case the darn door on the garage would not shut with the angle i had the car so down off the jacks move car foward 2 inches go inside drink Margarita with gold Tequilla. one to go +the tranny mount.
Did mine last year using a friends lift in his garage. He also had a cross member lift on the lifts - made the job a lot easier than what you are going through. If you know anyone with a lift - the other side should be easier and a lot quicker.
Yep got an Idea try to find someone with a lift. if you dont have anyone like I did not. First un-do the battery positive side.I Then open both of my doors and put a towel over the latch so they dont latch by accident. Then I jack up each side of the car until I can get my jack stands in just the correct place (Could be anywhere you like)On the frame close to the front.I also use wood between my jack top and the frame keeps the frame form getting small dents.Next get a moving blancket put every wrench every extension and at least two good rags.on the blanket now lay on your back slide up under the car locate the MM .Take a big 6x6 piece of plywood or the like take your jack with the wood on it and jack up the engine Just A little I knew I was high enough when the Horizontal bolt slid out of the MM. I missed that earlier take the long side to side bolt loose(just the nut and washer) now loosen and even take the three bolts out remember how everything looks. even though you have one on the other side to look at. ok all three bolts are out pull the long bolt out. Get the old one out . now the one I put in last night was in two pieces A plate and the mount the plate has to be a certain way it must go in.I then hooked it to the motor with the three bolts to the motor and snugged them up tight. at that point all I did was change my floor Jack to the Sissor Jack By Jacking up the sissor jack till it took the engine weight dropped the other jack A little bit then just started lowering my sissor jack till the Horizontial bolt just slid right in. Im doing the other side tonight.
Dont do what I did move the car far enough from the door so the angle of the Car does not make you take it off the jack stands to move it foward 2 inches so you can close the garage door.
